Truck Driven Through Floodwaters After 'Torrential' Rain Hits South London

Torrential rain again hit the London metropolitan area on Thursday, August 13, following a record-setting heat wave across the United Kingdom, local media reported.

This video shows a truck being driven through street flooding near a railway stop in Wallington, just west of Croydon, on Thursday.

The Met Office also issued a Yellow warning effective until August 17 as the heatwave presented a continued risk for strong thunderstorms. It was the first time in records dating back to 1961 that temperatures of 34 C (93 F) and above had been recorded for six consecutive days, the Met Office said. Credit: Antonio Di Natale via Storyful
