Harrelson and McConaughey, meanwhile, recently signed on for a new Apple TV+ comedy series, where they will play fictionalised versions of themselves.
The show is described as a "heartfelt odd-couple love story" focusing on the "strange and beautiful bond" between the pair.
True Detective: Night Country is set for release on Max in the US this year. A UK release date is also yet to be confirmed.
