Trump attacks wind energy in rambling speech

Staff writer

During a speech at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Florida, President Donald Trump went on the attack against a familiar enemy - wind turbines.

In the past, Trump has wrongly claimed that the noise from turbines causes cancer and that the power generated by the technology cuts out if there is no wind.

Seemingly not content to leave it at that, he returned to the subject at the weekend, claiming: "I've never understood wind and I know windmills very much. I've studied it better than anybody it's very expensive."

From that point on, the speech took a bizarre turn as Trump set off on a rant about all things wind.
