Trump Plaza crash: 'Several injured' as car ploughs through front doors of luxury building in New York

Several people have reportedly been injured after a car ploughed through the front doors of Trump Plaza in New York.

Footages showed shattered glass around the entrance of the luxury building in New Rochelle as a battered car was left in the lobby.

Witnesses told CBS reporter Tony Aiello that the male driver got out of the vehicle and took a seat of the sofa, but “said nothing”.

Mr Aiello reported that a number of people were hurt in the smash on Tuesday night, but said none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Police have launched an investigation into why the man drove the car into the lobby, but it is thought that it was accidental, the reporter said.

The vehicle was seen being removed from the residence as emergency services surrounded the area.

The 40-storey luxury building was developed by Cappelli Enterprises under licensing deal with Trump Organisation.
