Trump's Infamous “Access Hollywood” Tape Shocks Younger Voters on TikTok: 'Fathers Are Voting for This Man'

The crude recording, which was leaked during the 2016 presidential campaign, is making its rounds on TikTok among a new generation of voters who were too young to remember the scandal when it unfolded

It’s been nearly 20 years since the infamous Access Hollywood tape involving Donald Trump and Billy Bush was recorded, but thanks to a recent social media trend, some members of Generation Z are just discovering it for the first time.

The 2005 tape — in which Trump was caught on a hot mic talking about having sex and groping women — is getting renewed interest on TikTok, with Gen Zers filming their reactions to hearing the crude comments.

“Fathers are voting for this man,” TikTok user @katesullivan129 wrote over a video of herself listening to the tape. At one point, her eyes go large when Trump is heard saying he “moved on” a woman like a “b----.”

Alongside her video — one of many similar posts on the platform, which has generated 2.3 million views and nearly 4,000 comments alone — the TikToker offered her own take.

"Not even sure how you can look your daughter in the eye and say you’re voting for trump hearing the way he speaks about women,” she wrote.

Commenters on the post where similarly aghast at the former president’s bravado — which, when the tape was leaked, resulted in the firing of Bush, a former Access Hollywood host who was working at the Today show at the time.

“My dad knows about all of this and tries to justify it 😀 like dude do you care about me??? or my sister??? or my mom??? like.. at all???,” wrote one commenter, while others marveled at how Trump’s 2016 campaign was virtually unaffected by the leak.

“Billy Bush canceled and fired for laughing. The guy who actually said it, president. So messed up,” another person wrote.

In another video posted by @toxicthotsyndrome that has garnered more than 930,000 views, two young women sit side-by-side listening to the tape and are seen visibly disgusted by Trump’s words.

The 22-year-old woman behind that account, Soleil Golden, told Teen Vogue that she and her friend made the video so that people could see "how depraved" Trump's comments were — including the most notorious line, when he says stars can get away with "doing anything" to a woman, including grabbing them "by the p----."

“It's super concerning that so many people like to paint Trump as a family man," Golden told Teen Vogue. “And he and Vance have tried to create this image of the importance of the American family unit, and that's why they're trying to get rid of a lot of reproductive health care services and facilities, if God forbid, they win the election.”

Earlier this month at the Al Smith Dinner — with the former president and wife Melania Trump in attendance —  the tape was referenced by the event’s host, Jim Gaffigan.

The comedian compared Trump’s recent false claims about Haitian immigrants eating pets in Ohio to his lewd comments in the tape.

"During the first and only debate, President Trump talked about migrants taking cats and eating them," Gaffigan said. "You know, if you're keeping track at home, this is the second time grabbing a kitty has been part of a campaign issue."
