Millie's is a gastro-pub in the heart of Dunmurry at the junction of Kingsway and Upper Dunmurry Lane that is always a hive of activity.

Whether it is people coming together to have a few drinks after work, watching the football, enjoying a pub quiz or listening to some of its live music acts, there always seems to be something going on in the popular pub.

With pints of Guinness under £5 it is also one of the cheaper places I have been to recently to enjoy a wee drink and it seems to be the only location where I have watched Man United win this season because they always lose when I watch the games at home.

Every time that I have gone to Millie's I have seen the staff come out with big plates of food that always looked and smelled very nice and for weeks I have been saying to my girlfriend that we should come back and have a nice meal.

Recently we finally decided to venture out and enjoy a nice Sunday dinner at Millie's, which has a great offer of two courses for £20.95 or three courses for £22.95 that was too tempting to avoid any longer.

While we were a bit delayed due to a late guest of ours joining us, our waiter had already been over to check on us and get us a few drinks before returning as soon as our guest arrived to take the rest of our order.

The menu on offer for Sunday dinner is quite extensive, with a bit of something for everybody if they are not planning to have the Roast of the Day.

The starters offered soup, tempura broccoli, chicken wings and prawn on toast, with the main dishes offering a fish supper, beef burger and southern fried chicken stack (Westie Stack) alongside the roast. The dessert portion of the menu had a Cheesecake of the day and Chocolate Fudge Cake but I was only interested in the Sticky Toffee Pudding once I knew that it was available.

We decided that we would go for the two course option of a main meal and dessert and we were all very impressed with the quality of food that we received.

Our guest and I ordered the Roast of the Day, which was a Daub of Beef served with mashed and roast potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, sugar snap peas and gravy, while my girlfriend went for the Westie Stack which consisted of five southern-fried chicken goujons, mashed potato, onion rings and pepper sauce. It looked so good that it almost had me questioning my decision to have a roast.

The roast dinner itself was beautifully cooked with the beef falling apart as soon as it was touched by your fork and was well complimented by a very tasty mash, roasties and veg, with our guest agreeing that the food was very good.

The Westie Stack was equally enjoyed and despite reservations that there may have been a bit too much food, the plate was completely clean at the end.

After this we were not sure whether or not we would be able to manage dessert but I can always find a wee bit of room for sticky toffee pudding, which did not disappoint and was the perfect way to finish a nice Sunday dinner.

In order to change things up a wee bit my girlfriend ordered the Chocolate Fudge Cake and said that it was thoroughly enjoyable, but would be going for the sticky toffee next time we visit.

Overall Millie's was a wonderful evening out for a meal and I look forward to trying out the rest of the menu in the future.
