Anyone else used their slow cooker more in the past few weeks than they have in the entire time they’ve had it? That’s lockdown for you…

As well as learning how to use our slow cookers to make some of our fast food favourites, like KFC, pizza and Nando’s peri-peri chicken, we’ve also been using it to make some classic recipes, like banana bread. Plus, did you know you can make regular bread in your slow cooker? Life. Changing.

Speaking of classic recipes, we’ve come across this slow cooker toad in the hole recipe, and we cannot wait to try it. That’s tonight’s dinner sorted then.

And the best part is, there are only four ingredients, so there’s a good chance you already have them in your kitchen.

The recipe was shared on the Slow Cooker Recipe & Tips alongside the caption: “My first time making toad in the hole in the slow cooker… omg it’s so nice and not soggy at all!”

Mary Berry would be chuffed to hear that there are no soggy bottoms around these parts…

Slow cooker toad in the hole ingredients:

  • Sausages

  • 2 eggs, beaten

  • 120g flour, sifted

  • 240ml milk

You basically mix the eggs, flour and milk together so it forms a batter. Give that a little season with salt and pepper. Then sling the whole lot in your slow cooker with your sausages. Cook it on high for 2 and a half hours. Oh, and a good piece of advice: pop a tea towel under the lid to stop it going soggy.

How easy is that?
