Tulisa Opens Up About Turbulent Past As She Unveils Sweet Like Chocolate Teaser

Tulisa’s back! The singer – who is a former member of hip-hop group N-Dubz – has unveiled a teaser for her comeback single, featuring a series of smouldering stares, plenty of pool partying, bikinis and a jet ski.

The former X Factor star, 28, has recorded a cover of Sweet Like Chocolate, which was originally released by garage music duo Shanks & Bigfoot and topped the Official Singles Chart for two weeks in 1999.

She teased the track – which is released Friday via AATW Records/Universal – on Twitter this morning, sharing a short clip from the music video with her 3.6M followers.

Speaking about the new song, Tulisa said: “I’ve taken the chorus of an old school classic and written around it. It’s one of the most loved tracks of the ‘90s, and one of my favourite songs as a child.

“It was amazing to remake and rewrite a song like Sweet Like Chocolate, it feels like a good way to come back.”

During her time out of the studio, the London-born star hasn’t had the best time and in April she hit the headlines again after being convicted of drink driving for crashing her £150,000 Ferrari.

Opening up about her turbulent past, the Female Boss told Notion magazine: “I may have felt quite trapped – rebelled a little bit and been quite defensive and not known how to relax.

“I know it’s really clichéd to talk about self-love but after the few years that I’ve had, I can actually say yes to an extent, I am a lot more at east with myself and comfortable in my own skin.”

Sweet Like Chocolate – due to be released on September 2 – marks Tulisa’s first release in nearly two years, since her debut album The Female Boss, which includes the Number 1 single Young.
