Tunisia 1 England 2: How Hotel Mundial celebrated Three Lions win in World Cup opener

A Harry Kane brace secured England a win in their World Cup opener against Tunisia, though the Three Lions left it late in Volgograd.

With the likes of Germany and Brazil having slipped up in their opening games in Russia, many saw a chance for Gareth Southgate’s side to stamp their authority on the tournament in their first Group G outing.

Things were going exactly to plan when, after a number of clear cut chances, captain Kane poked home following a good save from the corner.

However, when the African side were given and converted a contentious penalty just after the half hour mark, the thoughts of ‘same old England’ began flooding back.

The young side, now with Marcus Rashford and Ruben Loftus-Cheek off the bench, continued to push and finally found a way through when Kane again found space at the back post from a corner to head home and seal all three points.
