Turkish Cargo Plane Crashes Outside Bishkek

A Turkish MyCargo/ACT cargo plane crashed on the outskirts of Bishkek early on Monday, January 16, killing an estimated 20 people and destroying 15 homes on the ground, according to a statement from the Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Emergency Situations.

ACT Airlines said that the cause of the crash was unknown in a statement on its website.

Radio Free Europe reported that several homes caught fire after Turkish Airlines Flight 6491 crashed several miles from Manas International Airport.
