The 5 best shows on TV tonight: Thursday 29 April

Anita Rani begins hosting a new programme this evening which sees people attempt to locate heroes who helped them out while they were caught up in the biggest events in living memory.

In the first episode of Saved By a Stranger, we meet a trainee clinical psychologist who was on a train targeted in the 7/7 bombings looking for the woman who comforted him through the ordeal.

Elsewhere, it's the last episode of This Is My House which has certainly proved more popular than plenty of doubters may have suspected.

Dragons' Den and Britain's Brightest Celebrity Family are also among the weekly returning programmes.

Dragons' Den - 8pm - BBC One

Pitching to the Dragons this week is a pair who have a dream of sharing music through an app - although their optimistic forecasts may be a bit out of tune.

Meanwhile, a husband and wife team come under fierce interrogation over their ethical clothing verification platform.

Britain's Brightest Celebrity Family - 8.30pm - ITV

In the latest brain battle as hosted by Anne Hegerty, Craig Charles brings along his daughter Anna-Jo and son Jack along as they go up again EastEnders actor Rita Simons and her clan.

The goal is to make it through to the semi-finals to get closer to the chance of winning £25000 for their chosen charity.

Saved By a Stranger - 9pm - BBC Two

Anita Rani fronts a new emotional series helping people track down the strangers who helped them out, and in some cases saved their lives, when they were caught up in the biggest events in living memory.

Karl was a passenger on the London Underground in one of the trains targeted during the 7/7 bombings, he was comforted by a woman who held his hand as he feared for his life - and he's been trying to track her down ever since.

Also featuring in the episode is Emina, whose family was able to escape Bosnia and Herzegovina when civil war broke out thanks to a doctor. She returns to Sarajevo to find the doctor who changed their lives.

This Is My House - 9pm - BBC One

The offbeat series has found itself plenty of fans, but sadly comes to an end tonight.

Stacey Dooley meets four people claiming to be Erica, an artist living with partner Sam in south east London.

Only one of them is telling the truth and it's up to the celebrity panel - including special guest Katie Piper - to find the real homeowner.

A League of Their Own Road Trip: Loch Ness to London - 9pm - Sky One

Heading into the end leg of their journey tonight, the League of Their Own lads Jamie Redknapp, Romesh Ranganathan, Freddie Flintoff and Jack Whitehall are in Central London.

They take to the water as they are tasked with a special Race Walk Challenge.
