TV Ratings: ‘Wisdom of the Crowd’ Sees Demo Lift Thanks to NFL Football

Wisdom of the Crowd” is currently up in the Sunday overnight ratings, due at least in part to the overrun of NFL football into CBS’ Sunday primetime lineup.

The entire CBS primetime lineup was pushed back 30 minutes or so due to football, so “Wisdom of the Crowd” started at 8:30 p.m. instead of 8. The Jeremy Piven-led drama is currently averaging a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 8.3 million viewers. That is up approximately 20 percent in the key demo compared to last week. However, due to the football overrun, those numbers could be subject to greater than normal adjustment later today.

Earlier on CBS, “60 Minutes” (2.2, 12.8 million) is currently up significantly in both measures. “NCIS: Los Angeles” (1.1, 8.4 million) and “Madam Secretary” (0.8, 6.4 million) are both currently even with last week.

On NBC, the “Sunday Night Football” matchup between the New York Giants and Denver Broncos is currently averaging a 5.0 and 14.4 million viewers, though those numbers are not time zone adjusted. In the metered market household ratings, the game averaged a 10.9 rating/18 share. That is up 21 percent compared to the comparable game last season (Indianapolis vs. Houston–9.0/15). Top markets for last night’s were: Denver 38.2/58; Albuquerque 16.3/26; Philadelphia 15.4/25; New Orleans 15.0/21; Richmond 14.9/23; Norfolk 14.8/22; New York 14.3/23; San Diego 12.9/23; Buffalo 12.7/20; Washington 12.6/23.

Fox’s Sunday lineup was down across the board this week without NFL football. “Bob’s Burgers” (1.1, 2.5 million) was down slightly in both measures, while “The Simpsons” (1.3, 2.9 million) suffered heavier losses in both measures week to week. New comedy “Ghosted” (1.0, 2.4 million) hit its lowest ratings to date. “Family Guy” (1.2, 2.6 million) and “Last Man on Earth” (0.8, 1.9 million) were down slightly in both measures.

On ABC, “The Toy Box” (0.4, 2.3 million) was up in total viewers, while “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (0.8, 4.4 million) was down slightly in the demo. “Shark Tank” (1.1, 4.7 million) and “Ten Days in the Valley” (0.4, 2.6 million) were even.

NBC easily won the night, currently averaging a 4.6 and 13.4 million viewers. CBS was second with a 1.9 and 10.6 million. Fox was third in the demo with a 1.0 but fourth in total viewers with 2.5 million. ABC was fourth in the demo with a 0.7 but third in total viewers with 3.5 million.
