The star had a CT scan and an MRI that revealed he had a fractured C5 vertebrae which required surgery on Thursday night.
Medics warned him after the delicate operation that he 'might never walk again' and because the surgery was through his throat, there was a chance that he might lose his voice as well.
Speaking about the horror moment Ben said: "My front tyre clipped his [Cam's] back tyre and I lost control, shot across [the road], got spat out and went head first into the one and only steel pole."
Ben said that he told the doctor, "that's my career," but the TV star was told: "my priority is to save you from being in a wheelchair for the rest of your life".
Ben said that the was told that most people who suffer this injury have not walked again but he had a glimmer of hope on Friday when he took his first steps post-surgery but admitted that he had "a long road to recovery".
