We're just coming off the back of an episode of The Walking Dead that has given us more than what we have become accustomed to getting in recent weeks.

I mean, we had three – count 'em... THREE – different story strands to sink our teeth into last night, so while we carry on digesting that relative glut of zombie-gore, we can sit back and look forward to what's to come in the next instalment.

Bring on the excitement-inducing show snippets!

First up is the 30-second promo trailer for what we can expect in seven days' time.

The action is hotting up nicely towards the season finale next week, with all sorts of paths crossing and plans being made. It really doesn't look good for Negan, does it?

And if you want a little bit more meat on the bones of the sort of action 'The First Day of The Rest of Your Life' will bring (of course you do) then Ezekiel's (Khary Payton) efforts to recruit Morgan (Lennie James) to join him will be just the thing you need.

Feast your eyes on the extended teaser below.

And if Lennie James is to be believed, the season's crescendo really is going to be a treat.

"For me, there's two moments in the script where I jumped up and down like a giddy schoolboy," he said. "Not just at the excitement of being part of the scenes that I was reading, but just in how exciting it's going to be if we pull it off.

"Considering one of those points when I jumped up and down like a giddy schoolboy, I was on an airplane, you can get some kind of sense of just how into it I was and how exciting it must be, because I did attract a little bit more attention to myself than I'd intended.

"It's an exciting episode in keeping with our tradition of leaving our fans with a bang in our season finales.

Bring it on!

The Walking Dead airs on AMC in the US and on FOX in the UK.
