Twilight creator Stephenie Meyer has confirmed she's not done with her vampire world just yet, as she's actually got two more books planned for the hugely popular franchise.

Meyer recently released Midnight Sun, the long-awaited novel which tells the events of the first Twilight novel from Edward Cullen's perspective rather than Bella Swan's.

It's proven very popular with fans, even if the reviews have been mixed.

According to USA Today, the novel has claimed the No 1 spot on its Best-Selling Books list and has sold over one million copies in all formats in its first week of release.

So it should be no surprise to hear that Meyer is keen to get back into the Twilight world again, and she's revealed that the two upcoming instalments will explore some of the characters further.

"The stories are there. There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write," she said during a live Q&A session with Books-A-Million this week. "I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it's there."

Don't expect to be getting into Edward's head again though, because Meyer is planning to explore the perspectives of some different characters in her next novels.

The bad news for fans though is it could be a little while before we get to devour another story from the Twilight world, because Meyer has some other ideas that she'd like to tackle first.

"I'm not ready to do that (another Twilight book) right now, I want to do something brand new," she said.

"For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating and I really want to do a new world and new rules and new mythology. Mythology is kind of my thing."

Meyer recently revealed that if she could she would have liked to go back and make some changes to her first Twilight novel, saying that she found the writing experience "frustrating" at times.

"Part of the struggle of writing [Midnight Sun] was there wasn't much room for me to readdress and to make changes. I've been locked into the story," she told Bustle.

"I knew what Edward was thinking and feeling [when I was writing Twilight]. So for me there aren't a lot of surprises, and I wish that there was more room for changes."

Midnight Sun is available to buy on Amazon now, while all the films are now available to watch on Netflix.
