If 2017 has made you feel like you’re stuck in a twilight zone, the Almeida’s new show is the ticket you need: a stage adaptation of the actual Twilight Zone.

Anne Washburn, known her her off-the-wall Mr Burns which was staged at the Islington theatre in 2014, has adapted the cult CBS television series which spooked audiences in the 1960s.

First images of the production, directed by Olivier-nominated Richard Jones, suggest an audio-visual treat for festive fright-seekers.

The production at the Almeida will be the show’s world premiere, and will be based on stories by Rod Serling, Charles Beaumont and Richard Matheson. The cast will include Matthew Needham, Cosmo Jarvis and Amy Griffiths.

Science, superstition, stage magic and fantasy will intertwine for an evening perfectly suited to the dark, winter nights (the creative team even includes an illusionist), so you may need to leave the lights on when you get back home.
