We're now less than one day away from the anticipated return of Twin Peaks, and just ahead of that happening the show's co-creator Mark Frost has been teasing some exciting details about what we can expect.

A quarter of a century ago when the original series aired, it was somewhat stifled by network censors in the US who had a say on some of the more potentially salacious things that could happen.

But as Frost explains, there's no such issue now (via EW).

"I would say we had a liberating amount of freedom this time around. And we took full advantage of it, from start to finish," he said.

"It was a way to deal with things that we didn't have to turn into a euphemism or an innuendo. We could pretty much tell it like it is and that was very refreshing. And I think it will show up on screen."

But as referenced by EW, we shouldn't expect a swearfest laced with gregarious amounts of flesh, either – a point which the CEO of Showtime (the channel that airs Twin Peaks in the US) David Nevins explained:

"There are moments of very strong material, but [co-creator] David [Lynch] is pretty clean," he said.
