Twist & Pulse think Simon Cowell has “mellowed” since becoming a dad.

The dance duo recalled how terrified they were of the music mogul – who has seven-year-old son Eric with fiancée Lauren Silverman - when they first auditioned for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in 2010 but things couldn’t have been more different when they returned to win the all-star ‘Champions’ edition of the show in 2019.

Ashley Glazebrook – who is joined in the duo by Glen Murphy - told the Daily Star newspaper: "The quick answer to that is he was scary...

"I remember seeing him there and he was almost floating like a God. But when we came back for The Champions series, he was so lovely.

"I think it is definitely because he has mellowed from being a dad.

"He was coming up and hugging us. He is a genuinely nice guy. Parents always ask us 'is he really that nasty?' But the truth is, he isn't, he's actually really nice."

The pair returned to the show earlier this week, when they wowed fans at the red carpet launch of the new series at the Palladium in London with a brand-new routine to announce McVitie’s sponsorship of the ITV programme.

Twist and Pulse dazzled the crowd as they dipped biscuits into mugs of tea while carrying out their daring acrobatic dance moves, before handing out the treats and hot beverages to those waiting outside in the cold.

They said afterwards: “It’s great to be back where it all began for us, and this new dance routine was a lot of fun to work on. Dunking your biscuits while dancing is definitely a new trend!

“’BGT’ helped change our lives and we hope it continues to do so for many others. We're also keen biscuit fans so the performance was certainly one we’d been working on for a while.”

Through the new partnership, fans of McVitie’s and ‘BGT’ will have the chance to win top prizes through the new Golden Moments campaign that will offer exclusive money can’t buy experiences including VIP tickets to the live BGT Final at Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith, London.

The Golden Moments campaign aims to spread stories of positivity and fun across the nation. Competition details will be available across special BGT branded packs including McVitie’s Chocolate Digestives, Hobnobs and Jaffa Cakes in retailers across the UK from March 7 2022.
