A twisted “YouTuber” has been jailed after posting sickening videos online threatening social workers.

Vile Daniel Carey posted two videos on the social media platform in February with one containing threats to “slash” and “cut up” his former social worker while, in the second, he threatened to slash a prison guard’s face.

Carey also made demands that a social worker perform a sex act on him as a bribe for the video to be removed.

Procurator fiscal depute Matt Piskorz told Paisley Sheriff Court that Carey had contact with multiple social workers. He explained he has a Youtube channel and, on February 17, cops received an “anonymous email” with a link to a video.

Mr Piskorz told the court: “The video is 14 minutes and 41 seconds long and refers to being bullied at his community service.

“He can be heard uttering threats [to the social workers]. The accused asks anyone watching the video for information, asking for what car they drive or where they stay. He made several abusive comments and threats of violence towards them and their children.”

Each social worker received profanity-laden threats during Carey’s tirade with a female staff member being targeted for sexual threats.

Mr Piskorz then told the court how the thug also threatened a prison officer who worked at Barlinnie jail in Glasgow while Carey was serving a custodial sentence.

He explained: “The accused posted a second video on February 21 making threats towards [the] prison officer. In the video, he asks anyone watching for information as to where her home address is, where her car is, where she takes her child to school, if she has a dog and where she walks it.”

Warped Carey goes on to say he will accept an apology from the officer – but only if she engages with a sex act and then issues his slashing threat towards her.

Mr Piskorz added: “The accused then continues, stating if she disobeys he will escalate this further by involving her daughter – suggesting he would cause harm to any child she has.”

Defence agent Tony Boland told the court Carey, described as a prisoner of Low Moss jail, Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, “accepts” these videos “must have been frightening” for those involved.

Mr Boland added: “He is no stranger to the criminal justice system, this is now his sixth time in custody at 28 years of age.

“He had been drinking most of the day and was rambling in this video and at parts it’s hard to make him out. He is realistic given his record a custodial sentence will have to be imposed.”

Sheriff Eoin McGinty slammed Carey, previously of Aurs Drive in Barrhead, stating: “Those who work in the criminal justice system as social workers and as prison guards all deserve to be protected.

“These weren’t just ramblings, these were targeted comments and threats to those who were named. You realised what you had done and sent a text to apologise then only four days later you posted vile threats about [the prison officer] and her children.

“Only a sentence of imprisonment is appropriate.”

Carey was jailed for two years with his sentence being backdated to his date of remand on March 1.
