Two arrests and vehicles seized as Island police stop over 50 drivers TODAY

OVER 50 drivers on the Isle of Wight have been dealt with by police today (Wednesday, January 25) as emergency teams continue their crackdown on Island roads.

Eastern Units and IW Road Policing Unit have been assisting Island police throughout today.

More than 50 drivers have been stopped by the combined police teams for various offences.

These offences include speeding, insecure loads, window tints, number plates, no seatbelts and use of a mobile phone while driving.

Two vehicles have been seized, and two drivers are in police custody under suspicion of drug driving.
