Two Bristol breweries, including one of the city's smallest, have teamed up for a long awaited collaboration. Basement Beer and New Bristol Brewery have come together to create 'Feeling Peachy', a 6.5 per cent IPA that is described as "bursting with ripe peach, nectarine and citrus notes, layered over a soft wheat and oat base, and combining each brewery's unique strengths - with Basement Beer's passion for fruity flavours and New Bristol Brewery's bold approach".

This new IPA will be available from November 22 and has been a year in the making. The collaboration between the BS2 neighbours came about during after-work discussions at the Basement taproom on Upper York Street.

It is also said to be inspired by Ben, Basement Beer's owner and head brewer, who has a 'penchant for fruit-infused brews' and, to celebrate, a launch party is being held on November 22 at Basement Beer's 32 Upper York Street venue. Here, guests will be able to sample the new beer, purchase cans, and meet the teams behind its creation.

As both breweries operate out of Stokes Croft and St Pauls, 'Feeling Peachy' will also be released across Bristol and the UK, but with a focus on venues around the Stokes Croft area. It will be available on tap and in cans at both brewery taprooms, as well as select bottle shops and establishments serving up top-quality Bristol beer.

Ben said: “It’s been fantastic working with the New Bristol Brewery team to bring this beer to life. I’ve been serving their team since we opened, so it’s great that we finally managed to plan a collab. As a small brewery, it’s invaluable to have larger businesses around who are willing to share knowledge and equipment, and we couldn’t be more excited about the launch!”

Basement Beer started as a weekend hobby in 2019 for Ben Evans, who at the time was running the Robin Hood in Kingsdown. Meanwhile, New Bristol Brewery was established in 2015 by husband and wife team Noel and Maria.

Adam, who is in charge of field sales at New Bristol Brewery, added: “We’ve all been customers and friends with Ben since the start of Basement, and have always enjoyed each other’s beers. The idea of this collaboration came about over a period of a year while we enjoyed a few too many beers, so we are looking forward to showing you what we’ve made!

"Our presence in and around the Croft will provide a platform for us to showcase this banger as well as both of our breweries.”
