Two casualties in Royal Stoke after car smashes into van

Two teenagers have been taken to hospital after their car smashed into a stationary van. Police, paramedics and firefighters were scrambled to the scene in Halmerend which also left a further car and a garden wall damaged.

Now officers are appealing for witnesses over the collision. The smash took place at 11.50pm on Friday night with reports 'people were trapped inside a vehicle'.

Staffordshire Police say a black Seat Ibiza had smashed into a stationary white Peugeot Boxer van on Heathcote Road. The driver 'was assisted' out of the car while the passenger was able to get out. The force has revealed how a blue Audi A4 alongside a garden wall were also damaged.

A spokeswoman for the constabulary said: "Two men, in their late teens, the driver and passenger of the Seat, were taken to hospital by ambulance. Fire crews made all vehicles safe. Highways were informed due to debris and fuel on the road. The Seat and Peugeot were recovered from the scene. Inquiries are continuing."

Witnesses should call the police on 101 and quote incident number 824 of September 27.
