Two elderly people hit by prison transport in Doncaster
Two elderly people have been hit by a prison transport vehicle in Hatfield, Doncaster.
On Wednesday, November 13, South Yorkshire Police were called at 3.34pm to reports of a crash on Doncaster Road at the junction with Coppice Avenue. There, a DAF GeoAmey prison transport vehicle had hit two people.
A 77-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman were both rushed to hospital as a result. Now, the woman remains in a critical condition, while the man remins in hospital in a non-life-threatening condition.

South Yorkshire Police said: "We’re appealing for witnesses and those with footage or information to come forward and assist with our investigation into a serious road traffic collision in Hatfield.
"Yesterday, Wednesday 13 November at 3.34pm we responded to reports of a collision on Doncaster Road, at the junction with Coppice Avenue. It is believed that a DAF GeoAmey prison transport vehicle has collided with two pedestrians.
"The pedestrians, a 77-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman were both taken to hospital. The woman remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition. The man remains in hospital in a non-life-threatening condition."
