Two restaurants in Lancashire have won at this year's Asian Curry Awards 2024.

Dubbed the 'Curry Oscars', finalists for the awards were chosen from a shortlist of over 200 restaurants and takeaways across the country. Judges from the Asian Catering Federation (ACF) met to look at this and ultimately, crown the winners in each region.

For the North West, two winners are from Lancashire and more specifically, they are both from Blackburn. Winning Casual Dining Restaurant of The Year was Kebabish Original, located on Whalley New Road.

My Lahore on Whitebirk Road also scooped the prize for Asian Fusion Restaurant of The Year, thanks to the British Asian influence in its cooking. Originating in Yorkshire, My Lahore state everything to "samosas to shepherd's pie and karahis to cornflake tarts" as influences on their dishes.

The 14th annual Asian Curry Awards were held at a gala dinner on November 17 at Grosvenor House in London and hosted by BBC news anchor Samantha Simmonds.

Chairman of the Asian Catering Federation Yawar Khan said: "We’re delighted by the number of people who have taken the time to vote for their favourite restaurant this year. The standard of finalists is exceptional and we also have some excellent newcomers on the list which is great news for the industry as it continues to flourish in today’s challenging economic climate."
