Live animals 'found among carcasses' in raid on illegal slaughterhouse in Wales as police arrest two men

Two men were arrested after police were discovered live animals among carcasses at an illegal slaughterhouse in west Wales.

Dyfed-Powys Police Rural Crime Team attended a call with other agencies on Monday, tweeting: “Rural Crime team attended a call with multi agencies to a report of illegal slaughterhouse in West Wales. Live animals found amongst carcasses.

It added: “Two males arrested and enquiries on going and no further information available at this stage.”

On Tuesday, the Rural Crime Team added a further tweet along with a picture showing live and dead livestock.

It wrote: “A little re-cap of yesterday’s horrific job…the importance of community intelligence, communication and our vital relationships with our partner agencies and the exposure of such illegal practices.”
