Yahoo News Boy, seven, died after being electrocuted retrieving football from pub garden
A seven-year-old boy who died after climbing over a wall to get a football was electrocuted, police have said.
Harvey Tyrrell was in the back garden of the King Harold pub in Station Road, Romford, east London, at about 5.20pm on September 11 last year when the tragedy happened.
Police and paramedics tried to save him but he was pronounced dead in hospital just over an hour later.
On Monday, the Metropolitan Police said the cause of his death had been confirmed as electrocution.
Two men, aged 70 and 72, have been interviewed under caution over his death, and a file of evidence passed to prosecutors.
The 70-year-old man was questioned the day after Harvey’s death and the 72-year-old was interviewed by police on January 11.

An online fundraising appeal in the wake of Harvey’s death described the keen footballer, from Harold Wood in Romford, as “a beautiful, happy and healthy seven-year-old boy who loved his football just like any other boy his age”.
The force said detectives continue to investigate the case.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a seven-year-old boy, Harvey Tyrrell from Harold Wood, was found unresponsive.
“He was taken to an east London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 18.33hrs. A special post-mortem took place on Thursday, 13 September at St Thomas’ Hospital.
“The cause of death has now been confirmed as electrocution.
“Two people have been interviewed under caution in relation to the investigation into Harvey’s death. A 70-year-old man was interviewed under caution on Wednesday, 12 September 2018. A 72-year-old man was interviewed under caution on Friday, 11 January 2019.
“A file on the incident has now been sent to the Crown Prosecution Service. Enquiries continue.”
An inquest into Harvey’s death is expected to take place this month.
