Two-Year-Old Among Boaters Rescued in Seattle

A two-year-old was among boaters rescued from Lake Washington by Seattle Police on May 18, police said.

The child was with two adult males, without life jackets, riding in a rubber raft that got into difficulty, and then sank, in choppy conditions, police said.

“Waves and high-winds pushed them under the I-90 bridge, ultimately sinking their boat and the boat of bystanders who rushed to their aid,” police added.

Video from police showed the rescue response at the bridge, with several people pulled from the water.

Those rescued were treated for exposure, police said. Credit: Seattle Police Department via Storyful
