Two people have been arrested over the murder of a man in Liverpool in 2016.

Blake Brown was shot in the head in Southwood Road, near St Michael’s train station in Aigburth, Liverpool, nearly two years ago.

Merseyside Police now say they have arrested two people in connection with Mr Brown’s death, following a collision between two cars and a van in Queens Drive.

A spokesperson for the force said three people were injured in the crash and that they were not in pursuit of any other vehicles before the collision.

The spokesperson added: ‘Merseyside Police can confirm two people have today (Wednesday, July 18) been arrested in connection with the 2016 murder of Blake Brown.

‘The pair, a 31-year-old man from Skelmersdale and a 37-year-old woman from Fazakerley, were arrested this afternoon on Queens Drive, Clubmoor, following a road traffic collision at around 4.20pm.

‘The man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and the woman, (on suspicion of) assisting an offender. The pair have been taken into police custody for questioning.’

Mr Brown was 30 when he was gunned down in October 2016.

His family described as ‘caring, helpful and charismatic’.

Several people have been questioned on suspicion of his murder but no-one has so far been charged.
