Two people hit by car after it crashed into railings

A car crashed into park railings leaving two people injured.

Merseyside Police were called to the junction of Sleepers Hill and Anfield Road, near Stanley Park, in Anfield at around 10.20am on Tuesday, July 9. It followed a report a silver Kia Picanto was involved in a crash with railings and two pedestrians were injured.

It was reported that a pedestrian, a man in his 60s, sustained a leg injury and was taken to hospital for treatment. The second pedestrian suffered a minor injury which didn’t require treatment.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene. Two fire engines and the search and rescue team attended. On arrival, firefighters found one car on all four wheels, however a second car's front two wheels were suspended over railings and a wall.
