Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps stars Ralf Little and Will Mellor have said that they'd be open to doing a reboot of the show – but they said that they'd have to tweak their characters to appeal to a modern audience.

The BBC sitcom was about five friends who navigated life together, Ralf appeared on the show as Jonny Keogh and Will as Gaz Wilkinson. The series ran for 10 years from 2001 to 2011

The pair recently featured in a special sketch, written by the creator of the comedy series Susan Nickson, to celebrate Two Pints of Lager's 20th anniversary – the scene revealed that Jonny was still alive after being 'killed off' in the original series.

Speaking on Loose Women, Ralf and Will spoke about the show and whether it could be revived.

Will said: "So if there is a chance that we do a spin-off, at least he's [Jonny's] not dead anymore. So we've opened the door. So we'll see. Who knows?"

Ralf said that a Two Pints of Lager reboot would be really interesting in any format and added that: "Gaz and Jonny were very laddy and of their time in the early mid-noughties – the world has changed, and for the better.

"I don't think we've necessarily seen on screen what your normal, average lads... how they're coping with a changed world."

Speaking about writer Susan, Ralf said that she could offer an interesting perspective if Two Pints of Lager was revived.

"I think it'd be great, a show written by a woman to show how men who were once lads in a different world are trying to sort of adapt to the world now. I think that could be really interesting and very funny," Ralf said.

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
