Two seriously injured in Redruth crash amid large-scale emergency services response
Two people have been badly injured in a crash in Redruth this afternoon, Monday, September 23. Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious single-vehicle crash on Southgate Street in Redruth around 1.20pm.
The road is currently closed and motorists have been told to avoid the area. Emergency services remain at the scene and the road remains closed to traffic at the time of writing, 3pm on Monday, September 23.
Multiple eyewitnesses reported a large-scale emergency services response in the area. One person said they heard "dozens of sirens" in the area. Another witness said there was fire and police crews at the scene. They added: "Serious incident in Redruth, main traffic lights cordoned off".

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police has told CornwallLive: "Emergency Services are currently at the scene of a serious collision on Southgate Street, Redruth. Police were notified at around 1.20pm to reports of a collision involving one vehicle.
"Two people have been seriously injured. Highways are also on the scene to assist with road closures at the scene. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area."
