'There are two sides to every story': Stacey Dooley breaks her silence over Kevin Clifton romance reports

Stacey Dooley has broken her silence on the rumours that she is in a relationship with Kevin Clifton, saying “there are two sides to every story”.

The documentary maker won 2018’s Strictly Come Dancing with popular pro dancer Kevin Clifton, but over the weekend her now ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott claimed that he’d discovered the pair’s romance as they cleared out their flat after splitting up.

He branded Clifton “a slippery, slimy snake”, but now Dooley has tweeted to claim that a lot of what has been reported about the situation is “nonsense”.

She wrote: “Anyone with any adult life experience knows there are 2 sides to every story.

“I haven’t got the time or energy to correct some of the utter nonsense I’ve read on here.

“Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward.”

Dooley then appeared to draw a line under the subject by tweeting again to pay her respects to the Hillsborough victims 30 years on from the disaster.

When Tucknott spoke to The Sun about the end of his relationship with Dooley, he said that he had seen a text saying “I love you” from Clifton pop up on her phone as they emptied their flat following the end of their five-year relationship.

He said that she later told him the romance with Clifton had not begun until after their Boxing Day split, but added that he had Facetimed Clifton to confront him.

Tucknott said: “He went white. I just stuck it on him: ‘You’re an absolute rat, how you conducted yourself. Just a slippery, slim snake.’

“He didn’t say a word, he looked petrified, so shocked… He’s a full on p***k. I’ve tried to meet him since to get closure, but he won’t do it.”

The dancer recently split with fellow Strictly pro Karen Clifton after three years of marriage, his third marriage.

Strictly is known for its effects on splitting up couples, with many of the show’s celebrity contestants having ended their relationships or got together with their dance partners after taking part.

One of the biggest headlines to hit Dooley’s series was comedian Seann Walsh being caught kissing his partner Katya Jones, married to another Strictly dancer, Neil Jones.

Walsh’s girlfriend Rebecca Humphries then very publicly dumped him with an open letter about his behaviour during their relationship.
