Two simple ways to clear your icy windscreen in seconds
This week it's likely you will wake up to a frozen windscreen as temperatures plummet over the next few days. Fortunately there are simple ways to get your windscreen clear in seconds. One man has demonstrated a simple hack that will clear your screen in a few seconds, causes no damage, uses no chemicals and will even warm up your hands while you do it.
Daniel Harris' technique proved a hit online, reports the Mirror, as instead of using a can of de-icer and a scraper, Daniel fills a sandwich bag with warm water. He then simply drags it over the windows and watches the ice melt immediately.
He wrote: "Hot water in a food bag and bam you've got a de-icer and a hand warmer. Works a treat, and it's fast!" He later added: "I used warm tap water so I could safely hold it and lower the risk of cracking my screen.

"The de-icer cans are so cold in the morning and this way keeps you nice and toasty. Oh and yes it was ice not condensation. I know it looks it but try it and you won't be disappointed."
And driver Angela Hickling came up with another solution and shared her idea on Facebook. She wrote: "I'm a genius. Get yourself one of these bottles, fill it with warm water and you're sorted. No cold hands scraping anymore and it cleans your window screen too, the brush bit is ideal. Off to work now, have a great day people."
She uses a bottle with a brush attachment - commonly used for spot cleaning carpets, upholstery and fabrics.
"That's amazing. I need some more of that so I will save the bottle after lol," wrote somebody else. Speaking to Manchester Evening News, Angela revealed how she had come up with the savvy idea.
She said: "I was just looking through my boyfriend's cupboard to find some sort of gadget as I really didn't want my fingers freezing off, and saw the bottle. I had a light bulb moment.. filled it with warm water and it worked perfectly. I was so happy."
She added: "It worked instantly, I didn't even need all the water in the bottle."
