Two van drivers arrested after what happened when police pulled them over
Two van drivers have been arrested after they tested positive for drugs. Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit have arrested two people after they pulled two vehicles over, on separate occasions, and the drivers both tested positive for drugs.
One of the vans has been spotted travelling on East Lancashire Road in poor, foggy conditions with only one brake light and one headlight working. Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver was drug wiped. They tested positive for cocaine and were arrested under section 5a.
The driver of the other van had been spotted in the Crosby area travelling at excess speed on a 20mph road. The vehicle was stopped by police and the driver was drug wiped. They tested positive for cannabis and cocaine and were arrested under section 5a.

Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit shared pictures of both vehicles on X, formerly knowns Twitter. The first post read: "The driver of this van was sighted on the east lancs in poor foggy conditions with only one brake light and one headlight working. Vehicle stopped and driver drugs wiped, testing positive for cocaine - arrested s5a."
The second post said: "Crosby area - driver of this van was sighted at excess speed on a 20mph road. Vehicle stopped and driver drug wiped and tested positive for cannabis and cocaine so was arrested s5a."
