Tyburn violent disorder leaves man 18, with 'severe head injuries' and boy, 13, also injured

An 18-year-old man suffered 'severe head injuries' and a boy, aged 13, was also injured after violent disorder erupted on a Birmingham street. The pair were attacked on Pype Hayes Road in the Tyburn area of Birmingham.

West Midlands Police was called to the scene shortly after 7pm on Friday, November 15. The 13-year-old's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, the force said.

Both victims self-presented to hospital, as West Midlands Police launches an investigation into the attack. West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene by the police, but the victims had already left the scene upon the arrival of paramedics.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to a disorder in Pype Hayes Road, Birmingham shortly after 7pm on 15 November. Officers attended and found an 18-year-old man with severe head injuries.

"A 13-year-old boy was also found, though his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening. Both were taken to hospital and enquiries are now ongoing. Anyone with further information about what happened can contact us via 101 or LiveChat quoting log number 4478 of 15 November."

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called by the police to reports of an assault on Pype Hayes Road, Erdington, Birmingham. Two ambulances and a paramedic officer responded to the scene, however two patients had already left the scene to self-present at hospital."
