Tyler Arts Festival opens registration for artists

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – Registration is open for artists to take part in the third annual Tyler Arts Festival in September.

According to a release, the third annual Tyler Arts Festival will be taking place in Downtown Tyler on Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the goal to highlight the talented artists in East Texas. The City of Tyler said that they are looking for local artists who would be willing to sell their art at a booth for the festival.

“The Tyler Art Festival is a wonderful opportunity for artists to advertise their work, generate revenue, and take part in a community event designed to celebrate and support the local art community that is blossoming in Tyler,” Lindsey Froneberger, downtown specialist, said.

According to the City of Tyler, the booths are 10 feet by 10 feet and range from $40 to $80 costing an additional $10 reserve a space on The Square.

The release also outlined the following additional rules:

  • Artists must be present during the show

  • All work presented must be of the artist exhibiting

  • No booth sharing

  • Collaborating artists must explain their process in the application

  • Performers retail all revenue from the sale of their work. Artists are responsible for collecting and paying all taxes

  • No refunds; the event is rain or shine
