Tyler Game Wardens receive essential gear through nonprofit donation

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation (TPWF) said on Tuesday that the Smith County game wardens receiving gear from a crowdfunding initiative for Texas game wardens.

In a statement, the TPWF said Gear Up for Game Wardens gave the Smith County game wardens a thermal drone, which is especially helpful given the nature of winter in Texas. They also received three handheld thermal units and a fully enclosed ATV for search and rescue.

Gear Up for Game Wardens is a collaborative effort between the TPWF and a group of dedicated citizens to make sure that Texas game wardens are able to get the equipment they need. It allows users to look up the gear needs of game wardens in their county, and make personal attributions to the gear, some of the gear can include boats, drones, optics, boots and more.
