Typhoon Krathon Destroys Store Fronts in South Taiwan

Typhoon Krathon caused destruction in Kaohsiung as it made landfall in Taiwan on October 3.

Footage shared online shows the collapsed awning of a convenience store in Kaohsiung.

At least two people were killed and dozens injured as a result of the typhoon, according to local news.

Around 9,600 people were evacuated from 12 cities and counties, local news said, citing officials.

By Thursday afternoon, Krathon was moving slowing north over Taiwan, according to Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration.
