Tyre explodes while mechanic pumps it up at repair shop in Thailand

This is the moment a farmer was injured after his tractor tyre exploded as he pumped it up at a repair shop in northeastern Thailand. CCTV footage shows the unidentified man, 41, using the air pressure machine before it blew up and sent him collapsing on the ground in Ubon Ratchathani province on May 7. Shocked customers checked on the farmer after the loud bang and immediately called the emergency responders as he laid unconscious beside the tractor. Owner Anumat Tavadee said the farmer visited the shop to have his tiller’s tyre pumped but the mechanics were not there yet so he decided to do it himself. He said: ‘The man came to the shop asking to inflate his tyre but I told him that he should wait for the mechanics to arrive to handle it properly. ‘However, he decided to do it for himself. He might have put in too much air and chose the wrong pressure so the tyre eventually exploded.’ He was rushed to the hospital where his broken arms and legs were treated but medics suggest that he would have to stay there for at least a month de to the severity of his injuries.
