Tyson Fury takes on the undefeated WBC champion Deontay Wilder as he finally gets the fight he has been waiting for since his return to boxing.

The 30-year-old stepped back into the ring earlier this year following a 32-month absence after accepting an anti-doping rule violation.

After winning his first two fights on his return against Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta, promoter Frank Warren confirmed the Gypsy King would challenge for Wilder's WBC heavyweight title after beating Pianeta back in August.

The American has a knockout-to-win ratio of 98 per cent and after beating Cuban fighter Luis Ortiz in March, Wilder is now 40 bouts undefeated heading into the biggest fight of his career.

What they said

Fury: “I’m hoping it is going to be the biggest fight of my life, that’s what I’m preparing for. If it is anything less it will be easy for me.

“If you are good enough you win, if not you are going to lose. It makes it all the more sweeter when I win in someone else’s backyard.

“Wilder is someone with dynamite power. I don’t know about me being clever, but it’s going to be a heavyweight title fight and we are going to have to start hitting each other.

“It is true that styles make fights and that is what will make this an interesting clash. But we will be having a go at each other and I am hoping it is going to be the toughest fight of my life.

Wilder: “This fight means everything to the heavyweight division. This division was once in a dark place... We’ve brought the sport back to life.

"When we're put in a room together you can feel the energy, to the point where you need security. People feel the intensity, it's a huge fight.

“It’s important to establish dominance. I’m the best, the baddest man on the planet.

“You know what I’m coming to do [on] December 1. I know you’re coming to see some skills but you’re coming to see this man’s body on the canvas and that’s what I’m going to deliver to you.”
