U-turn sees travellers from France having to quarantine

Millions of people's travel plans have been thrown into chaos as schools break-up for the summer holidays after the government reversed a decision on quarantine rules. People returning to England and Wales from France will have to self-isolate for ten days, even if they are double jabbed. It's because of a rise in cases of the Beta variant of Covid first seen in South Africa. This is in spite of the requirement being relaxed for people returning from other countries on the amber list from Monday.
