UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem Weigh-in Results

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar makes his return to the Octagon, following a lengthy layoff, at UFC 141 on Friday night. He'll square off against former Strikeforce and K-1 champion Alistair Overeem in the Dutchman's UFC debut.

Lesnar is returning from a second bout with diverticulitis, including surgery to remove a length of his colon, while Overeem hits the biggest stage in mixed martial arts in an attempt to conquer the one major promotion missing from his resume.

Both fighters weighed in at the top end of the division. Overeem tipped the scale at 263 pounds, while Lesnar makes his return at 266 pounds, the maximum weight allowed for a heavyweight non-title fight.

“It's great to finally be in the UFC,” said Overeem after his staredown with Lesnar. “About tomorrow, it can be pretty short, but I predicted a first, and if not a first, it'll be a second round knockout.”

Lesnar, however, immediately vacated the stage, not waiting around to give UFC broadcaster Joe Rogan or the fans a comment.

Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone

The UFC 141 co-main event is a heated showdown between Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Nate Diaz. The two seemed amiable enough until they squared off for a photo op following the pre-fight press conference, where Diaz knocked Cowboy's hat off and then shoved him.

Cerrone had no trouble hitting the mark with the one-pound allowance for a non-title fight. Diaz, however, came in at 157 pounds, a full pound over the maximum allowed.

Cerrone, however, immediately told UFC president Dana White that he didn't care what Diaz weighed, he wanted to fight.

Words were exchanged as the two squared off for photographers, but it did not devolve to the pushing and shoving that occurred after the press conference.

UFC officials later confirmed that Diaz was given one hour to make weight and did so, weighing in at 156 pounds, the same as Cerrone.

Also on the docket is a battle between Jon Fitch, as he tries to earn a long-awaited return shot at the belt around Georges St-Pierre's waist when he faces the streaking Johny Hendricks. Neither fighter had trouble making weight.

UFC 141 is uncharacteristically on Friday night due to the New Year's Eve holiday. The pay-per-view returns to its old 10 p.m. ET time slot, as well. You can also follow live UFC 141 play-by-play here on MMAWeekly.com beginning with the preliminary bouts at approximately 7 p.m. ET.
