UFC fighter launches astonishing attack on 'straight, white, feminist' Brazil football team
UFC fighter Paulo Costa has launched an astonishing attack on Brazil’s World Cup team, claiming it can’t win the tournament because they are “feminists” who “apologize for being straight [and] white.”
The Brazilian mixed martial artist, who is one of the UFC’s top-ranking middleweights, made the bizarre claims on Twitter following the national team’s 2-0 win over Serbia on Thursday.
The incoherent tweet read: “Brazilian soccer team were respectable when they had drug dealers to make party’s officials and s****** f***** Like Ronald at 2006 or 2002.
“Now they all are feminists or apologize for being straight white. They cannot win wolrd cup sorry. Bring old times back.”
Costa has a history of controversial posts, including a video last month in which he said he would kill YouTuber Jake Paul if they ever had a boxing match.
In the video, a shirtless Costa bounces around a gym and says: "Imagine I chase Jake Paul in the ring like that. Bouncing the head and the chin like Mike Tyson."
After throwing a series of imaginary punches, he added: "He's died bro, he cannot survive."
The post was accompanied by a caption reading: "He wouldn't get out breathing."

Costa was a supporter - like a number of members of the Brazil national team including star player Neymar - of far-right ex-president Jair Bolsonaro.
When Bolsonaro lost in last month's general election, Costa said "the communism is winning fake elections in Brazil" and that as a result, he would eat his dogs for dinner.
Costa is the UFC's sixth-ranked fighter in the middleweight division, with a mixed martial arts record of 14 wins and two losses. He most recently fought in August, beating Luke Rockhold by a unanimous decision.
