UFC legend Nate Diaz heads for curry in Newcastle before being spotted in famous bar
Nate Diaz delighted staff at a Newcastle restaurant this week, with the UFC legend calling in for a curry, before then being spotted in a famous city centre bar.
The 39-year-old American is on Tyneside to support his friend and teammate Chris Avila, who will compete in the Misfits Boxing card meet at the Vertu Motors Arena on Saturday night and has been causing quite a stir over the last few days, as fans have bumped into. After being urged to go for a Greggs, the fighter was mobbed by fans as he headed to one store in the city centre and, when asked what he was doing in the Ton, told them: "My boy is fighting on Saturday, so we are here to watch him."
And Greggs isn't the only food haunt Nate has called into this week, with him also dining out at award winning Indian restaurant My Delhi and a photo of what he tucked into causing a stir, given that he is famous for being vegan, yet was eating chicken dishes. Clearing things up. a staff member at My Delhi told ChronicleLive that, while he adopted a vegan diet primarily for fighting, but it seems his culinary tastes have expanded since stepping out of the octagon.

Talking about his visit they added: ""He enjoyed a wide range of dishes, iincluding our Aloo Tikki Chaat, Delhi Wala Grill, Amritsari Fish, and a variety of our Roadside Curries like the Kozhi Curry and Punjabi Dhaba Chicken. He also sampled some of our vegan favourites, such as the Harappa Smoked Aubergines and Grandma's Aloo Matar."
After his meal out, Nate was clocked just down the road at hugely popular music bar The Dog & Parrot, with fans seizing the opportunity to get selfies with him.
