Top chef Adam Handling is holding a series of "fireside feasting" nights at his Cornwall country pub. The special dinners are being billed as a chance to "savour the very best of local produce in the heart of the Cornish countryside" - all cooked over fire.

The menu has been created by Adam and senior sous chef Andi Tuck - renowned for his creative fire and smoking methods. It celebrates Cornish produce, using seasonal harvest from local farmers, as well as ingredients foraged by the team from the pub’s grounds.

Diners will be treated to snacks including cheese doughnuts and black pudding bon bons before tucking into starters like Footes pastured chicken, smoked leeks and miso and goat’s cheese with ember-baked beetroot and bull’s blood.

Main courses feature dayboat fish over coals and smoked Moreland beef, served with seasonal sides. Desserts are sea buckthorn tart, smoked meringue and Cornish orchard crumble.

The experience will take place at the chef's newest venture, The Tartan Fox, which opened this summer in the Grade II-listed former Carvynick House in Summercourt, between Newquay and Truro. Formerly the Fox's Revenge pub, it has been refurbished into a "stunning, quintessentially British countryside pub", complete with roaring fireplaces and cosy snug areas.

Adam said: "Fireside feasting brings together everything I love about Cornwall in autumn – the incredible produce, the changing landscape, and that feeling of cosiness as the weather gets that bit colder. It’s a chance for us to show off the best ingredients from around here, with an experience that’s as much about coming together as it is about the food.”

The first dinners will take place on Thursday, November 14, and Thursday, November 28, with a special festive edition on Thursday, December 12. Guests at the December feasting night will also receive a glass of English sparkling wine on arrival, alongside a wine pairing with dinner and cheese and port to finish.

Fireside feasting nights are priced at £49 per person, and the festive fireside feasting night is £110 per person. All events will start at 6.30pm.
