Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have presented This Morning hungover on the morning after the National Television Awards for the last few years, and it doesn't look like they are changing that tradition any time soon...

After previously confirming that they'd started drinking before the award ceremony got underway, the pair only had more reason to celebrate later in the night as This Morning snagged the gong for Best Daytime TV Show.

Speaking backstage at the awards, Phil teased that there's every possibility that Holly could get drunk tonight.

"We never plan anything," he told Digital Spy and other media. "Holly said to me this morning before we did the show, 'D'you know what? I think I might take it easy this year' – and I watched her crumble all throughout the day!"

Don't worry though, Holly has a solid reasoning behind the celebratory drinking, adding: "We have to celebrate these moments when they come, right?

"I have a feeling when we're old, we'll say, 'Once upon a time, I was nominated for an NTA', and our grandchildren won't believe us! So I want to celebrate it now."

Yep, it's safe to say we're looking forward to tomorrow's This Morning even more now.

Earlier on this evening (January 22), Holly uploaded a photo to her Instagram of an ice bucket full of booze, with plenty of glasses to go around.

The star wrote: "Just at a hotel getting NTA ready with Steph, @schofe's wife and she was in charge of the drinks order!!! She’s a Schofield alright!!!!"

On today's show, the duo vowed to "get giddy and have fun and not go home", which we can imagine will happen especially after their prize collection.

But do you think that one year they will get so drunk that they don't actually make it into the studio the next day? Could 2019 be that year?

At least if that did happen, they could always call in John Barrowman, who stepped in to cover for Phil on his day off yesterday (and who viewers really clicked with).

This Morning has been experimenting lately, by launching a new Sunday edition on the weekend. Hosted by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, it contained some exclusive content with clips from throughout the week (viewers didn't really click with it).

This Morning continues at 10.30am tomorrow (Wednesday, January 23) on ITV.
