Well-known Black Lives Matter activist Sasha Johnson remains in a critical condition in hospital after reportedly being shot in the head during an incident in south London on Sunday morning. News of the attack was published on the Facebook page of the ‘Taking the Initiative Party’ – of which Johnson is a leader. Police believe the shooting occurred in the vicinity of a house party but officers say there is currently no evidence the attack was targeted. Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are currently conducting an investigation and are looking to speak to anyone who was at the scene. The 27-year-old mother-of-two is a graduate from Oxford Brookes University and rose to prominence during last year’s BLM protests – following the death of George Floyd.
