Chancellor Philip Hammond will today reveal how the Government will spend the 2017 Budget.

In a keynote speech, given to MPs in the Commons, Mr Hammond is expected to signal he will use the funds to “invest to secure a bright future for Britain”.

He will pledge to use Government money to ease the UK’s housing crisis and boost industry across the country.

But his room for manoeuvre has been limited by surprise figures showing that state borrowing jumped to £8 billion last month, adding to pressure from the Office for Budget Responsibility's expected downgrade of productivity projections.
