Yahoo News Coronavirus: Number of UK cases jumps 407 to 1,950
The number of coronavirus cases in the UK has jumped to 1,950.
The latest figures, announced by the government on Tuesday afternoon, mark an increase of 407 from Monday’s figure of 1,543 positive cases.
This is the biggest day-to-day increase since the outbreak began. The previous highest increase was 330 on Sunday.
It was later announced the death toll has risen 14 to 71.

Meanwhile, foreign secretary Dominic Raab announced British citizens are being advised against non-essential foreign travel for 30 days.
It comes after Boris Johnson introduced “drastic” new measures as part of the government’s plan intended to slow the spread of Covid-19. The prime minister:
