Boris Johnson accused Sir Keir Starmer of "endless attacks on public trust" during a heated Prime Minister's Questions, the first since the Dominic Cummings row erupted across UK politics.

The Labour leader and Prime Minister came to blows over testing, parliamentary voting and what Sir Keir described as a 10-year low for public trust in Government. Mr Johnson hit back by refuting his counterpart's claims and saying he was surprised at the opposition leader's "tone".

Following their fiery head-to-head, Home Secretary Priti Patel will set out new Covid-19 quarantine restrictions for anyone arriving in the UK from abroad which could see foreign travellers who disobey the new rules deported and £1,000 fines for anyone flouting the strict measures.

It comes as the UK death toll in hospitals, care homes and the wider community hit 39,728 as of 5pm on Tuesday, up by 359 from the day before.
